I'm currently sitting on one of the new, high speed trains running on the HS1 line through Kent. Normally there's an extra charge for this service, but due to some train shuffling this weekend, I was allowed to use it for part of my journey.
It's quite smart inside, as you would expect for a train that's only been running for about 6 months. The best thing about it is that it cuts a good 20 minutes off my journey today.

We rode on one of those on the way home after Christmas (my gold card meant it was the same price for some reason). I liked it :D

I caught it again for half of the return journey. :)
In addition to the speed and cleanliness, I liked the relative peace and quiet compared to the regular London-bound morning trains. I expect it gets quite a lot of use during the week, but at the weekend, there probably aren't many people willing to pay extra.
The seats seemed larger too. Not just wider, but taller, restricting my view of the rest of the carriage, so I could hide away in my own little space.
